This week the Think Tank Initiative lauches its new video series, “Think Tanks in Africa: Bridging Knowledge, Policy & Practice”. The series was led by Canada’s International Development Researcher Centre (IDRC), in collaboration with South African filmmaking company, ReWild Africa.

The film series captures key lessons learned by African Think Tanks that participated in the Think Tank Initiative over the last 10 years. The series consists of 16 short films (3-4 minutes each) that profile think tanks from 8 countries and each story captures the challenges and opportunities that think tanks face across East and West Africa in their efforts to contribute to positive economic, social and political change. Through these films you will learn:

  • How TTI’s core funding and capacity building support helped think tanks in diverse contexts and countries become better and more effective at what they do
  • How think tanks in Africa find ways to persevere and contribute to creating positive change in their countriedespite critical political, economic and funding challenges

The series was first launched at the UN High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York City through an exhibit that took place from July 9-18, 2019 and promotion will continue via the Think Tank Initiatives Twitter page: @TTI_ITT.
