The 7th South Asia Regional Meeting of the Think Tank Initiative was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from 5-7 February 2018. The three-day long meeting explored how TTI support of the South Asian cohort of think tanks helped strengthened their capacities in terms of generating knowledge and becoming more effective in policy engagement.

The theme for this year’s regional meeting was Remaining Relevant in the Policy World: Sustainability Challenges of Think Tanks. It was attended by representatives from all 14 TTI-supported think tanks in South Asia as well by 12 participants from three IDRC-supported think tanks in Myanmar.

The meeting was preceded by a day-long workshop addressing gender in research and organizational excellence. It was facilitated by Ms Ratna M Sudarshan, a gender specialist from India, and Ms Ranjani Krishnamurthy, Researcher and Consultant, Gender and Development based in India.

These events were organised jointly by the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) and BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD). Find more information about these meetings here and you can follow the proceedings with the hashtag #TTIRM7.
